Big Bang Set to Perform at the Summer Sonic 2010
Although Big Bang has been laying low on the kpop scene these days, there is one big event that their fans can look forward to. However, more than their Korean fans, it's the international fans -- more specifically Japanese fans -- that can benefit from this bit of news.
There was news released on May 25th that one of the biggest groups to hit the kpop scene in a long time, Big Bang, will be performing at the Summer Sonic 2010. The dates are set for August 7th in Osaka, Japan and the following day on the 8th in Tokyo. They will be in good company, with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Sum 41, Jason Derulo, and many others.
After having first started in 2000, Summer Sonic has grown to be quite the international event having attracted up to 200,000 people. This is not the first time for a Korean artist to have been invited to this festival. Seo Taiji took part in the festivities back in 2001 and then NELL in 2008.
It seems that Japan can look forward to some Big Bang action right now as well being that the group left Korea for Japan to attend the Video Music Awards-Japan at the Yoyogi National Stadium on May 29th. The five-member group was nominated for the Best Newcomer's Video Award.
