The female quartet shared their excitement with Asia Economic Daily through their agency Nega Network on Wednesday morning, saying "Taeguk Warriors [nickname for players on the Korean national soccer team] put up a great fight against the Nigerians." "We already knew they were good but watching them actually win the game was even more thrilling," the girls were quoted as saying. "We hope they do even better in the future." Brown Eyed Girls is composed of leader Jea, rapper Miryo and vocals Narsha and Gain. They debuted in 2006 with album "Your Story" and have since released two more studio albums and two mini-albums. Earlier this morning, South Korea's soccer team drew 2-2 against the Nigerians in the final Group B match of the first round, after defeating Greece 2-0 and losing to Argentina 1-4 in the first two games. Prior to this year's games in South Africa, the Korean team had never made it past the groups stages overseas since their first World Cup appearance in 1954. Their most successful run in the World Cup was back in 2002, when they made it to the semi-finals on their home soil as the co-host of the games with Japan.

Korean singer Narsha of pop group Brown Eyed Girls is gearing up for her upcoming solo debut, releasing a series of images created for her new mini-album. According to a press release by agency Nega Network on Thursday, the girl band member has unveiled several image shots for the new album in which she poses as an angel, a devil, a saint and a witch. Another series of jacket photos will be revealed on July 5. An official at Nega Network explained that they made a lot of effort to "upgrade" Narsha's image concept from her previous image as a member of Brown Eyed Girls. Yesterday, the singer also released a teaser video of her new single "I'm In Love," a remake of a song by singer and songwriter Ra.D. The entire song will be revealed tomorrow prior to the record's release on July 8. The teaser video featured young guitar prodigy Jung Sung-ha, who shot to fame after his videos received millions of hits on video-sharing site Youtube, and pianist Shin Ji-ho who is dubbed "the Nichkhun of Berkelee." Jung even took part in the single as a session guitarist. All tracks from the album, including the title track, will be released both online and offline next Tuesday. Korean pop group Brown Eyed Girls made their official debut in Japan through a showcase on Friday, according to a press release by their agency Nega Network. The four-member group celebrated their upcoming record release in the country by holding a showcase at Astro Hall in Tokyo on August 6, performing in front of some 1,000 fans at the sold-out event. After teaching the fans how to do their so-called 'arrogant dance routine,' the girls sang a total of five songs at the showcase including the Japanese version of their smash hit "Abracadabra" and "Sign." The quartet has been readying for their Japan debut since signing with major record label Sony Music Japan International earlier this year, and will be kicking off their activities later in the year.
