It's one of the hottest k-pop concerts of the year! The 16th annual Dream Concert will be featuring some of the hottest stars, like it does every year. This year's line-up includes two of the most successful comebacks made in 2010: Rain and Lee Hyori. Also included on the recenly finalized list are the Wondergirls, Girls Generation, SS501, Super Junior, 2PM, SHINee, Afterschool, Kara, U-Kiss, f(x), BEAST,T-ara, MBLAQ, 4minute, Rainbow, ZE:A, Davichi, and F.cuz. This year's run, titled "I Love You Korea: 2010 Dream Concert", will take place 7 PM on May 22nd at the World Cup Stadium in Sang-am of Seoul. The Dream Concert has been a yearly event, highly anticipated by local k-pop fans. In fact, up until the 14th annual concert, entrance was free. However, starting from last year, tickets came with a price tag. Fortunately for fans, ticket prices were relatively low. Unfortunately, this makes it very difficult for them to get their hands on one. Also, artists hoping to break into the k-pop industry will see an opportunity of a lifetime through the 2010 Star Stage" portion of the concert. Even rain could not stop 40,000 fans from attending the Dream Concert, the biggest annual gathering of K-pop’s prized artists. This year’s mega concert was held on May 22 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. The participants this year were headliners Rain and Lee Hyori together with Super Junior, Girls Generation, SHINee, Wonder Girls, SS501, BEAST, MBLAQ, 2PM, CNBlue, ZE:A, F.Cuz, U-Kiss, KARA, f(x), After School, T-ara, 4Minute, Rainbow and Davichi. Absent this year were pop groups 2NE1, Big Bang and 2AM due to personal commitments. The concert was hosted by Super Junior’s Heechul, 2PM’s Taecyeon and actress Shin Se-kyung. Fans were screaming and shouting as their idols performed one by one. Girls Generation sang “Oh” and “Run Devil Run” while the Wonder Girls performed “2 Different Tears” and a medley of “Tell Me,” “So Hot” and “Nobody.” Lee Hyori sang “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and “Bring It Back;” Rain performed “Love Song.” Super Junior sang “Bonamana” and “Sorry Sorry” and SHINee performed “Ring Ding Dong” and “Replay.” SS501 rendered “Let Me Be the One” and “Only One Day;” 2PM sang “Without You” and “Don’t Stop Can’t Stop” and BEAST performed “Shock,” “Special” and “Mystery” medley. During the performance of 2PM, majority of the fans were shouting “Park Jaebum” in reference to the boy band’s former leader. The yearly concert is also chance for K-pop fan clubs to show their force. A sea of different colors was seen, representing the colors of fan clubs. Super Junior fans, for instance, waved their blue lightsticks and balloons. Despite the rain, the concert was hugely successful.
