Daesung just released a new solo single, may I find out what it's called?

After G-Dragon’s “Star Confession”, Asiae.co.kr reporter Park So Yeon now sits down to learn a bit more about another Big Bang member, Kang Daesung. When the group Big Bang first burst onto the stage, people whispered that they were ‘ugly’ idols. Kang Daesung, 22 (stage name: Daesung) in particular, who is famous for his (small) ‘smiling eyes’, has such humble looks that he was once told by Kim Jong Kook on the SBS variety show ‘Family Outing’ that “If you were around my time, you would never have been able to become an idol”. Despite that however, Yang Hyun Seok (Yang Goon) of YG Entertainment chose Daesung for his ‘smile that lights up the world’ and unique voice, and it is safe to say that he definitely did not make a mistake in his choice. Daesung’s characteristic, optimistic personality and his friendly looks have earned him the appraisal of the public; he seems like the friendliest and the most easiest to approach out of all the current active idol stars. Asia E has interviewed Daesung and has heard about his hidden efforts and the pain behind his smile as he worked towards his dream of becoming a singer, as well as being accepted on variety shows. It will be through “Star Diary” [the name of this interview; G-Dragon’s was “Star Confession”] that Daesung’s childhood past to the present, him being active as a singer and actor, as well as his enormous yet trivial dreams for the future will be revealed. Daesung recalls: “Before I did music I liked sports. I played soccer in primary school but I had to give it up after stretching a ligament in my knee. I still liked sports though so I consistently learnt Aikido and Taekwondo.”

The princess of K-pop, Lee Hyo-ri, is set to make a comeback when her fourth album, “H-Logic,” is released on April 8. When a clip from the album was unveiled on Monday by Mnet Media, Lee’s management company, it received more than 20,000 page views on the portal site Naver. Many foreign and Korean songwriters will be featured on the album, including Gary of the hip-hop duo LeeSsang, Jeon Ji-yoon from the female group 4Minute, and Big Bang’s Daesung. Four songs from the album and a music video for the title track are slated for release today.

2010’s going to be a good year for YG Entertainment and fans of the YG family. Check out who’s releasing what and when! Leading the YG pack for 2010 would be Gummy who will be releasing her new mini album “Loveless” on the 30th of April 2010. “Loveless” marks her musical comeback eversince promotions for her previous album “Comfort” took place in March of 2008; more than 2 years ago. She’ll be commencing promotions for her single “Because You Are a Man” in the first week of May. It’s a hip hop infused track, produced and written by none other than YG’s very own homeboy, Teddy who also had a hand in making 2NE1’s Fire, a surefire hit. The first half of 2010 may have been rather quiet but all that is going to change as YG plans to push out new releases, back to back and there’s no stopping them. Although YG’s schedule may seem a little ambitious and tight, fans will certainly be pleased to know that Se7en, who last released his 4th album “Se7olution” back in November of 2006, is in the final stages of preparation for his comeback at the end of May. He’ll be releasing a mini album packed full of new explosive material and as stated by YG representatives to “have a completely different style from his (Se7en’s) past albums“. The third in the lineup of epic YG releases goes to Taeyang of Big Bang who will be releasing his first full album. The digital single “Wedding Dress“, his second solo project, which was released last November was immensely well-received by Koreans and by international Kpop fans alike. The talented vocalist is currently in the process of producing and putting together the pieces of this album. There’s also more to expect from Taeyang as according to YG officials, he will be pursuing a different path from that of the other Big Bang members whom for example have gone to debut in movies and musicals.
