He graduated Donga Broadcasting Arts University’s Faculty of Arts program on the 18th. Unfortunately however, he was not able to attend his degree ceremony due to him having to go to a schedule. While in university, Changmin had focused on studying practical music and vocals. He said that despite the busy schedules because of the groups’ activities and appearing on variety shows, “I tried my best to graduate this year. I attended every time I was free, and I took various exams that had to do with my graduation.” 2AM, the group the Lee Changmin is a member of, has recently blown away the music industry for the first time in their debut of three years, with their new song ‘Even If I Die, I Can’t Send You Away’. Additionally, another one of their new songs, ‘I’m Sorry I can’t Laugh’ is also gaining popularity at the same time. Lee Changmin had gained the nickname “Goon-Pil-Dol’ by finishing his army duties very early for the first time in the history of idols. Congratulations Changmin on this wonderful accomplishment!

Singer Kangta held a fan meeting after being discharged from military service in the afternoon of the 20th. 600 fans from Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, China and other parts of the world filled up the art center of the women’s college at Seoul, Korea where his fan meeting was being held. He told fans, “I learned a lot in the past two years of my military service, and there were times it was tough but it was my decision to go there and I am so thankful that the fans waited for me. I thought I would cry a lot today, but I am overwhelmed with the happiness to be here, so I did not cry. I would like to perform as much as possible in the future to express my thankfulness to the fans.” After the fan meeting time of around 90 min, Kangta shook hands with all 600 fans to express his appreciations. At Kangta’s fan meeting, Yunho and Changmin of TVXQ and others video messages were shown. Kangta will have fan meetings in Tokyo and Beijing as well.

Tohoshinki, a South Korean male pop group of five hugely popular in their home country, Japan and other parts of Asia, will suspend their performances, their Japanese agency Avex Management announced Saturday. An agency source said after consultations with the members—Jejung, Changmin, Junsu, Yunho and Yunchun—that each of the five has decided to pursue his own dreams and direction. The group, also known by its Chinese name acronym TVXQ, debuted in South Korea in 2004 as a teen unit. The five made their Japan debut the following year and had No. 1 hits such as ‘‘Purple Line’’ and ‘‘Mirotic.’’ Rumors have circulated that the group would disband after a conflict between some of the members and their Korean agency. In Japan, they have appeared in the ‘‘Kohaku Utagassen’’ annual New Year’s Eve TV music extravaganza for the last two years. Jejung is set to appear in a Japanese TV drama series starting this month.

As we all were informed earlier today, JunSu, JaeJoong, and YooChun of DBSK have recently announced they formed a three-man group under AVEX. But what about Yunho and Changmin? Many fans were appalled and taken aback when they heard that 3 key members of DBSK would be making another group. Some even came to the conclusion that Yunho and Changmin would then disappear off the face of the earth. Well, I can’t guarantee that won’t happen, but I can say that there are rumors and speculations going around about the other two members. It’s not much to base anything off of, but when AVEX were confronted about their activities coming to a halt (This was, however, before they announced their music activities starting again), they were quoted as saying “We will do our utmost best to support the activity of each five members continuously in the future who have one of a kind rare talent and the future.” Although this does not confirm a solid “Yunho/Changmin” comeback, it does confirm that they’re not done growing in the music industry, and by the looks of it, they’ll be growing for a very long time!

Four-member boy band 2AM met with 3,000 fans in Singapore over the weekend, according to agency Big Hit Entertainment on Monday. Big Hit, producer and promoter of the boys' latest album, announced in a press release that the group was in Singapore on July 10 to promote the release of their album "I Did Wrong" in the country with a showcase held at the Garden Plaza of the IMM shopping mall. An official related to the showcase in Singapore explained, "Album sales and radio airplay for the song has been increasing since the showcase. The song will soon see good results on music charts." "I was so surprised to see how the fans in Singapore were singing along passionately to 'I Did Wrong.' We want to have more events in the future for our fans in Asia," 2AM leader Jo Kwon was quoted as saying. The boys will be returning to Korea later today after attending other promotional events such as guest appearances on TV and radio, press conference, music showcase and an autograph signing session. 2AM, composed also of members Changmin, Seulong and Jinwoon, made their debut in 2008 with the single "This Song." They released their first full-length album "I Can't Let You Go" featuring the title track of the same name in March. The members have branched out into acting and appearing in dramas and numerous variety shows. They recently opened for Wonder Girls during their first solo tour titled "Wonder World Tour" in North America.

Korean idol group 2AM has topped a major weekly album sales chart in Singapore with their hit single "I Did Wrong," according to a press release by Big Hit Entertainment on Thursday. Big Hit, producer and promoter of the boys's latest record, said in the statement that "Wrong" was ranked at No. 1 in the weekly J-pop/K-pop section of Singapore's HMV music sales chart for the week of July 4 to July 10. HMV is a major global music retailer. "They were ranked high in terms of all categories including music sales, digital downloads and radio airplay in Singapore," an official at Big Hit was quoted as saying. "We will focus on promoting the group overseas, not just Korea." The four-man band recently met with some 3,000 fans at a showcase in Singapore, held July 10 at the Garden Plaza of the IMM shopping mall. 2AM made their debut in July 2008 with the single "This Song" and gained popularity through K-pop hits such as "Can't Let You Go Even If I Die" and "I Did Wrong" earlier this year. Members Jo Kwon, Jinwoon, Seulong and Changmin have also branched out to other activities, such as hosting radio shows and appearing in TV dramas and variety programs. Leader Jo Kwon will be hosting SBS' televised music show "Inkigayo" starting June 18.
